For London the Initial Treatment costs £65. Follow ups are £60/ treatment.
For Woking the Initial Treatment costs £60. Follow ups are £55/ treatment.
Will my treatments be covered by my private medical insurance cover?
Yes they will. We are on the lists of all the major medical insurance companies. You will need to ask your specific insurance company, for what you are covered as some have excesses. You will be given a receipt, which you can send to your insurance company who will then reimburse you.
How many treatments will I need?
There is no set rule for this. This is much the same for Osteopathy and Acupuncture. For an acute condition it can take up to three treatments, but some relief is usually felt after the first session. For more chronic/ long standing conditions, it can of course take longer, but relief is usually experienced within 2 -3 sessions. On longstanding conditions top ups every few months are sometimes needed to reinforce the benefit.
What should I bring to my first session?
Please bring the results of any medical investigation you may have had, loose fitting and comfortable clothing
Are Osteopathy or Acupuncture treatments right for me?
This depends on the condition treated. For very stiff, or acutely painful joints, Osteopathic treatment is usually the initial choice. For pain or long standing problems, Acupuncture may be used or, to increase the effectiveness of the treatment, both may be utilized together. Treatments take place after a full consultation with a patient. All the pros and cons of proposed treatments are discussed and it is the patient who ultimately chooses which way they would like to proceed.
If I have a Combination of Treatments, does it cost more?
No, All treatments sessions cost the same.
Are Osteopathy or Acupuncture treatments painful, and are there any side effects?
After Osteopathy, it is quite common to feel tired;, the following day it is not uncommon to feel a bit achy at the affected area. This usually lasts up to two days and is most common after the first session and this experience is usually not repeated the following time.
Despite the fact that Acupuncture entails the insertion of needles into the body, the fact is that the needles are very thin, much thinner than the hollow ones used in injections. Patients often report that nothing was felt during insertion, but it is common to feel a small amount of ache around a needle, this sensation goes after the needle is withdrawn. As after Osteopathic treatment, it is not uncommon to feel tired afterwards.
What is the difference between Chiropractic and Osteopathy?
This is an often asked question; it is difficult to summarise. Actually there is very little difference between these two types of treatment, but at its basic level, Osteopaths tend to do more soft tissue work before the manipulation, and tend to use longer leverage techniques during some of their joint manipulation.
